  8.  * Installing WinEZ Pro

  11. To install the shareware version of WinEZ Pro you will need an uncompressing
  12. utility compatible with PKWare's PKZIP v2.0.  WinEZ Pro, shareware version, is
  13. distributed as a single file.  This file is compressed in ZIP format.
  14.  
  15. To install WinEZ Pro:
  16. ---------------------
  17.    1. Create a subdirectory on your hard disk where WinEZ Pro will reside.
  18.  
  19.       eg.  MD C:\WINEZPRO
  20.  
  21.    2. Copy the WEZPxx.ZIP file to that directory.  (WEZPxx.ZIP is the
  22.       distributed file for WinEZ Pro, where xx is the version number.
  23.       i.e.  WEZP14.ZIP - WinEZ Pro version 1.4).

  25.       eg. COPY A:\WEZP14.ZIP C:\WINEZPRO\WEZP14.ZIP

  27.    3. UnZIP this file in the target directory.

  29.       eg. PKUNZIP WEZP14.ZIP

  31.       This will extract all of the necessary files for WinEZ Pro.  Once
  32.       extracted you should find the following files:

  34.       WINEZPRO.EXE     Main program
  35.       WEZPNDW.DLL      Used by WINEZGRP.EXE to read Norton Desktop groups
  36.       WEZPWIN.DLL      Used by WINEZGRP.EXE to read Program Manager groups
  37.       WINEZDLL.DLL     System DLL
  38.       WINEZLIB.DLL     Used by WEZTBAR.EXE
  39.       REGISTER.EXE     Registration program called by WINEZPRO.EXE
  40.       WEZDSKTP.EXE     Desktop Manager called by WINEZPRO.EXE
  41.       WEZTBAR.EXE      Toolbar called by WINEZPRO.EXE
  42.       WINEZGRP.EXE     Group reader utility, called by WINEZPRO.EXE

  48.       COMMDLG.DL_      Windows redistributable files, can delete if it already
  49.       SHELL.DL_         exists.  Use EXPAND.EXE to expand file if needed

  52.    4. From the Windows' Program Manager or File Manager, choose Run... from
  53.       under the File drop down menu.  Enter the fully qualified filename of
  54.       the WinEZ Pro executable to start it.  i.e. C:\WINEZPRO\WINEZPRO.EXE.

  56.       To have WinEZ Pro startup automatically when Windows is started, create
  57.       a new Program Item in the Program Manager's Startup group.  Use File |
  58.       New | Program Item to create a new item (See you Windows User's guide
  59.       for details on adding new items to the Program Manager).

  61. Setting up the Power Toolbar
  62. ----------------------------
  63.    1. Choose a Program Manager Group that will be used as the toolbar's
  64.       Power Group.  Either create a new group or choose an existing one.
  65.       Keep the name of this group in mind.
  66.  
  67.    2. Left click on the right most WinEZ Pro icon (EZ Task icon) to bring
  68.       up the task pop-up menu.
  69.  
  70.    3. Choose the Options... menu item.
  71.  
  72.    4. In the Power Group section, use the drop down listbox to select the
  73.       program Manager Group that you have chosen for your Power Group.  Press
  74.       OK.  The dialog should go away.
  75.  
  76.    5. Right click on the left-most WinEZ Pro icon (EZ Launch icon) to bring
  77.       up the Power Toolbar.  The contents of the toolbar should contain the
  78.       same icons as in the Program Manager group you picked in step 1.

  80.    6. To launch an application from the toolbar, just double click on its icon.
